Apple is launching iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 today, aligning with the imminent implementation of the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA). This version introduces support for third-party app stores and incorporates various changes mandated by the DMA. It’s crucial to note that all DMA-related features will be exclusively accessible within the EU.

Now, any browser, excluding Apple’s Safari, has the freedom to adopt the rendering engine of its developers’ choice. There is no longer an obligation to stick with Apple’s WebKit.
