OnePlus Open Price Leaks at $1,699: A Detailed Look at the Upcoming Foldable

The OnePlus Open price leaks and rumors point to a staggering $1,699, according to reliable sources. Earlier this month, the smartphone brand kickstarted its marketing for the upcoming foldable phone with a teaser video. Today, we have detailed renders that leave nothing to the imagination, including a massive camera island on the back.

The OnePlus Open release date is October 19, just around the corner. With a rumored price of $1,699 in the US, it’s only $100 less than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5. This puts the OnePlus folding phone in a challenging position. Especially considering the imminent release of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

The OnePlus folding phone will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB of storage. It will also have a 6.31-inch outer screen and a 7.8-inch flexible main screen from BOE. However, the OnePlus Open price and phone SoC finds itself in a tricky spot, as Qualcomm is set to release a new chipset just days after the phone’s launch.

The OnePlus Open price reflects the gigantic camera island, housing a 48 MP main camera, a 48 MP ultrawide, and a 64 MP 3x optical zoom camera. Unfortunately, due to a patent dispute between parent company Oppo and Nokia, the new OnePlus foldable smartphone will not be available in Germany.
