Google Wear OS, Android, Nearby Share, and Meet New Features

Google announces upcoming features for Android to excite users. Updates for emojis and Gboard with new accessibility are just a tiny part. Others like Wear OS, Meet, and Nearby Share are also part of the advancements.

What new updates are there? One of the upgrades is for the Gboard with a new “emojify” attribute to easily add emojis when texting. For a demo, you can use the Gboard Beta app. To fuse emojis or create a new one, Emoji Kitchen is introduced with Android to get fresh mashups like fall-themed ones.

How about other apps? Meet app gets an exciting attribute for users to play games with each other on video calls. Users can also pin other participants on the call. These updates are on their way and started to roll out.

In the upcoming weeks, the Nearby Share gets an opt-in feature. Therefore, the users will be able to share content with nearby devices using account. Also, there are no more prompts, even if the screen is off, the app can send content. Optimized large-size widgets for Apps are also part of the plan for Android tablets.

This time around, there are new accessibility features like Custom Sound Alerts for the visually impaired. So, when enabled, it alerts the user by vibrating, Wear OS alerts, flashing lights, and distinct sounds. Moreover, it picks up sound like a baby crying, running water, a smoke alarm ringing, or animals making sound (e.g., dogs barking, etc.), and it can learn sounds from the users. A new library for audio-described videos is also introduced on TV for the blind or people with vision problems.

Long-awaited Bitmoji watch faces have also arrived. Another update is the new Google Keep tile. It lets you dictate notes easily or go through the others.
